My name is Dan Kerestes and I was born in Canton, Ohio where I enjoyed a wonderful childhood with my brother and sister in a loving family. Right after high school, I joined the Navy and was stationed in Yokosuka Japan on the USS Midway (1945 CV) as the yeoman for the Judge Advocate General.
After the military in 1988, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona and went back to school for a degree in Business Management while working for Arizona State Savings and Credit Union as an Accounts Manager and Lender. Fulfilling my life desire for Religious Life, I applied and was accepted to the Order of Friars Minor of the Santa Barbara Province which led me to the Diocese of Phoenix Catholic Schools Office in 2002. I completed my theological studies at the Kino Institute in 2006 and have enjoyed serving the Roman Catholic Church ever since.
For the last 20 years my main apostolate resides with the Franciscan Community of Saint Mary’s Basilica as Cantor and chorister serving weekend Masses and all Holy Day Masses.
These past years have brought me great joy serving the community of Saint Thomas Aquinas and I look forward to many more years. Peace and Good!!
